CORE VALUES

A sustainable future for all

Filler bite is proud to work towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We believe that these goals are important to create a more sustainable and equitable world for all. We are committed to upcycling at least 50% of the chocolate we use in our products, as well as using paper and tin packaging that is easily recyclable. We also offer refills for our products to reduce waste and plastic use. By working towards these objectives, we hope to have a positive impact on the environment and lives of people around the world.

Corporate sustainability

Our manufacturers and Filler bite pledge to contribute to sustainability. Our chocolate manufacturer takes responsibility for every step of the process, from cultivation to consumption. As a credible sustainability pioneer, they are involved in innovative projects in the countries of origin and maintain regular contact with producers, suppliers, and partners. This allows them and us to ensure the highest quality standards for our products. In addition, our manufacturer is committed to reducing their environmental impact, and they are constantly exploring new ways to make their operations more sustainable. As a result, we are confident that our products are made in a way that is good for people and the planet.

Since 2011, our chocolate manufacturer has been committed to climate neutrality. They have planted 594,290 CO2-relevant trees and their production is 100% climate neutral. Their cacao butter is 100% certified and their cacao beans are 97% certified. They use 95.1% renewable energy and we have compensated for 45,000 tons of CO2 through a project in Ecuador.

This is important for climate change and the future of our planet because the manufacturer is committed to reducing their environmental impact and using renewable energy. This will help to offset some of the damage that has been done to the environment and slow down climate change.

Sustainability projects

Our chocolate manufacturer is committed to investing in sustainability projects from where they source their cocoa to produce our delicious chocolate. Currently, they are and have been investing in projects in the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Madagascar, Honduras, Ecuador, and Peru where they have invested almost USD 14 million.
In Honduras, they have successfully mixed cultivation with fine cocoa and fine woods, which helps farmers generate additional income.
In Ecuador, they support the training of local cocoa farmers to become trainers for organic cultivation and mixed cultivation.
In Peru, a reforestation project for climate protection was initiated where native precious woods promotes biodiversity.
With their pioneering project in Ghana, they are committed to securing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
In Madagascar, mixed cultivation with fine cocoa varieties opens up new perspectives for the environment and people.
The chocolate manufacturer's commitment to investing in sustainability projects is important for climate change and the future of our planet because these projects help to preserve and protect the environment. By investing in projects that train farmers in organic cultivation and reforestation, the manufacturer is helping to reduce the amount of deforestation and pollution caused by traditional farming methods. This, in turn, helps to combat climate change by reducing the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere. In addition, these projects also help to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers, which is important for ensuring the future of food security on our planet.
Upcycled Chocolate

A more sustainable chocolate

As a new company, it is important to focus on being environmentally responsible and sustainable. We want to ensure that our products have as little negative impact on the environment as possible, and the use of recycled chocolate is one way to do this. Upcycled chocolate is chocolate that would otherwise be thrown away because it is not perfect enough to be sold in stores. This could be due to cosmetic defects or because it was cut off during the production process while forming a chocolate bar. By using recycled chocolate, we can reduce food waste and help save the environment.
